How I Met Your Mother series finale got show’s best ratings (despite being the worst)

If you ask us, last night’s How I Met Your Mother episode was garbage. If you ask the nearly 13 million people who tuned in to watch the show’s series finale, they might say the same thing, but that couldn’t stop them making the show’s final episode its all-time highest rated.

An approximate 12.9 million people tuned in Monday night to watch Ted Mosby reveal how he met the mother but that doesn’t matter because now he’s in love with the aunt, topping the show’s previous ratings watermark, the 2005 episode “The Pineapple Incident,” which reached 12.1 million viewers.
